About
Producer & Director of Documentary, Brand, and Narrative Films
Erik Paul is a Houston-based producer and director working across documentary filmmaking, narrative film, and brand storytelling. His work is grounded in real human experience, guided by intention, and shaped by a belief that clarity and restraint create lasting impact.
Rather than simply capturing footage, Erik leads projects as a creative director and film director, shaping story from concept through final cut. He focuses on narrative structure, performance, and pacing—deciding what matters, what doesn’t, and where attention should live—so the final film feels intentional rather than assembled.
He works in a director-led, crew-supported production model, collaborating with trusted cinematographers, editors, and production teams while remaining accountable for the creative decisions that define the work. This approach allows each film or video project to be scaled thoughtfully, using the right people and tools for the story rather than forcing it into a fixed or one-size-fits-all setup.
Erik partners with brands, nonprofits, healthcare institutions, and organizations seeking thoughtful, story-driven video content. Clients come to him when a project requires sensitivity, structure, and a steady creative hand—when the story needs direction, not just execution.
Based in Houston, Erik works nationally on documentary films, branded films, and cinematic video projects where creative leadership matters as much as craft, and where intention is valued as highly as outcome.
Recovery
Recovery is a short narrative film exploring identity, resilience, and the quiet contradictions of healing. It reflects my interest in character-driven storytelling beyond commissioned work.
